Baidam validates ethical business status with Social Traders certification
Baidam, Australia’s leading Indigenous cybersecurity company, announced that they have secured certification to Social Traders, a network of Australian organisations committed to using their purchasing power for good.

Social Traders certification is world-leading and tailored for the Australian market with the highest standards. It aims to clearly identify and protect the sector against social washing.

Gaining Social Traders certification gives us the opportunity to highlight that what Baidam is doing is what good looks like,
says Baidam co-founder Jack Reis. “It validates what we’ve been doing since our inception – actually giving back and creating real opportunities for change rather than paying lip service to the notion as a business growth strategy. We are committed to following through on what we promise and believe it’s important that others do as well."
Baidam returns over 50% of their profits to ‘bridging the gap’. As the business has grown 310% year-on-year in the past two financial years, the amount given back has increased significantly since they were a startup in 2018. The company has also actively contributed to the next generation by establishing scholarships for Indigenous STEM students at the University of Queensland (Brisbane), Australian National University (ACT) and Edith Cowan University (Western Australia).
Baidam has also raised over $110,000 through their ‘making a difference’ fundraising golf days supporting the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (ATSICHS) Queensland and Deadly Choices.

Our goal is not only to fund change, but inspire it,
says Reis. “For example, last year Baidam worked with Deadly Choices to fly ten children from the Torres Straits (a two-stage journey) to Brisbane, where they toured our unique First Nations' co-designed SOC (Security Operations Centre). This event was designed to inspire these youngsters to consider a future in technology – and we’ve been told that they’re still talking about the visit!"
