Building a legacy of giving back with BHP

Baidam’s new partnership with BHP strengthens Australia’s cybersecurity landscape while driving powerful social impact, creating education, employment, and long‑term digital career pathways for First Nations communities.

Building a legacy of giving back with BHP

What if your IT strategy could do more than just protect your digital assets? What if it could also spark real, lasting social change?

A few months ago, we celebrated a significant milestone that does exactly that.

During NAIDOC Week, our team at Baidam had the honour of standing alongside representatives from BHP to officially sign a commercial agreement. But this wasn't just any agreement - it was a partnership with heart.

We are so proud to step up as a key partner to support BHP’s extensive software and cybersecurity needs. For us, this collaboration is a huge step forward for inclusive business in Australia. It’s proof that top-tier service and deep community impact can truly go hand-in-hand.

More than just security - it's about driving change

As a world leader in the resources sector, BHP is deeply committed to safe and responsible operations, and that naturally includes their digital world. This commitment is reflected in their actions.

For example, Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO) - a core business unit of BHP - spent more than A$450 million with 121 Indigenous businesses and more than A$250 million with 67 Traditional Owner businesses in FY2025.

By choosing to partner with a First Nations IT provider, they're not just securing their technology for the future - they're actively investing in community growth.

The signing ceremony was a key moment that highlighted what can happen when large organisations lead with purpose and inclusivity. For BHP, it’s a shining example of how procurement can be powerful and meaningful. It perfectly reflects our shared passion for sparking innovation, celebrating diversity, and creating a legacy of positive change.

Creating pathways for First Nations Peoples

At its heart, Baidam is all about creating opportunities. Every success we achieve in business is channelled directly back into real, practical support for Australia’s First Nations Peoples.

Our goal has always been to deliver industry-leading cybersecurity services while generating social and financial returns that make a difference.

When we team up with global leaders like BHP, we build the momentum needed to fund vital STEM education programs, create new jobs, and forge sustainable digital careers for First Nations Peoples.

It’s a powerful cycle where success fuels more success, giving back to the community and helping to close the gaps that have existed for far too long.

As we look to the future, we're more dedicated than ever to protecting our clients' digital worlds while creating real, tangible opportunities that uplift our communities.
